By researching at local “drop ins” for new parents, we discovered that there is little or no free birth- preparation education, resulting in often negative birth experience, leaving new parents feeling vulnerable and alone. In conversations we discovered they would have all welcomed support in the form of birth education and fellowship whilst pregnant and during the first year with baby. These classes support expectant and new parents to self-manage their pregnancy, access local support networks and empower them to take an active role in making their community, making a better place for their children.
The trustees of Pregnant in West London are all local parents and are passionate about delivering these much-needed services to ensure a healthy and positive start in life. So far, Pregnant in West London have received funding from local government and private sources. In order to continue theses classes, the trustees are constantly working to raise funds and awareness of the charity.
