I met Janet for a walk at 32 weeks just days before London went into lockdown, her calm, wise, and knowledgeable manner was such a guiding light through what was an extraordinary, unpredicted time to be pregnant. Our weekly zoom sessions where always filled with interesting ideas and suggestions I hadn’t read or heard elsewhere and I felt confident and ready for the birth. Janet had suggested that at this time a home birth would be the best option with me being low risk but at no point pushed it on me and instead let me over time feel confident in my decision. On the day of my labour she was as much a support for my husband as for me being in constant contact throughout the night as the labour progressed and arrived at just the right time that they began to intensify with a very welcomed imaginary box of tricks. With the help of all of these techniques she worked on and her calm manner that reassured me this was totally natural my little girl arrived so gracefully hours later in water with the help of a little gas for the last stages. I really have everything to thank Janet for, without whom I most likely would have ended up in a very different scenario, I could not recommend her enough, she played such a huge part in a day that has changed me forever.
